The trail begins just outside the historic center of Cortona, the panoramic Piazza Garibaldi, heading towards the public gardens are on the left is the late Gothic Church of San Domenico. Further we are moving towards the gardens of the Parterre, a beautiful tree-lined pedestrian boulevard at the entrance of which we can see the Monument to the Fallen of World War I by Delphi Paoletti. Down the street dirt, continue along the paved road that runs behind the sports and leads us to the Torreone. Towards the middle of the climb we left the wonderful Villa Bramasole. Torreone arrived to turn left and continue climbing up to the Basilica of Santa Margherita. Above the church stands the majestic fortress of Girifalco (XVI century), built by Grand Duke Cosimo I de 'Medici for defensive purposes. Coming out of the gate to the yard to go down the dirt road on the right that shows the intersection of Torreone. From here we continue to fall until the first curve to the right from where the road leading to the hermitage of the Celle. We return to the main road and descend again to Piazza Mazzini and Port Cologne. On the right we find the imposing Church of Santa Maria Nuova. Piazza Mazzini, through Cologne Gate, we enter on Dardanus, the street where we can find the typical Tuscan trattorias where you can taste the delicious local cuisine. Before entering the Piazza Signorelli, Benedetti take away on the left, which will bring us back to Republic Square where our tour ends.
